The US media has revealed new facts about the Tesla Semi accident that took place in August about 100 kilometers from California, when the electric tractor with a semi-trailer went off the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver was not hurt, but the truck's lithium-ion battery caught fire. The aftermath was devastating: I-80 was closed for 16 hours, firefighters needed 190,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire, reduce the heat and prevent re-ignition, and there was a risk that flames from the burning Semi would spread to the surrounding woods.

After experts deemed the remains of the charred Semi safe to move, they were moved to an open area where they were monitored for another 24 hours.
